Two for Cloo

Yep, it’ll be twins

- By CHRIS PEREZ cperez@nypost.com

George Clooney and his wife, Amal, are expecting. twins.

The babies are due in June, “The Talk’’ host Julie Chen said on the CBS daytime show Thursday, citing sources — and later adding that the bundles of joy would be a boy and a girl.

Confirming the news, a source close to the couple told People magazine that Amal Clooney, 39, “has let everyone in both families know quietly.”

“They’re all very happy,” the source said.

Rumors that Amal was pregnant had swirled for weeks after she was seen wearing baggy clothing.

On Jan. 9, the humanrights lawyer wore a loosefitting floral dress with black tights and matching boots at the London screening for the Netflix documentary “The White Helmets.”

News of her pregnancy broke just days after she celebrated her birthday with a lavish trip to Spain.

As for her 55-year-old hubby, the development marked yet another reversal for the once happily unattached bachelor who for years had sworn off the domestic life.

In an interview with TV’s “Extra” in 2005, he had joked about the joys of having friends with children while not having any kids himself.

“You can play with them — they’re like nieces and nephews — and then you pump them full of sugar and shove them back to the parents,” the “Ocean’s Eleven” star said.

A year later, Clooney told People, “I think it’s the most responsible thing you can do, to have kids. I think it’s the biggest responsibility you’ll have, and it’s not something to be taken lightly.

“I don’t have that thing in me that says, ‘ Must do it.’ I don’t see myself ever having kids.’’

Still, he added, “everything in my life has changed over periods of time, and the world does change.”

Clooney had famously vowed for years that he would never marry again after the end of his fouryear marriage to actress Talia Balsam in 1993.

Clooney married Amal in 2014.

They met at a charity fund-raiser in September 2013 after being set up by a mutual friend, and were engaged by April the next year. They were married in a star-studded ceremony in Venice that September.

While the lovebirds have remained private about their relationship, Clooney briefly opened up in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” in October, just days after the couple’s two-year anniversary.

“And they said it wouldn’t last,” Clooney said jokingly. “Ah, we proved them wrong!”
