Trump’s Day in Court: Partisanship Over Justice
I find it completely unbelievable that a random judge can tell our president what he can or can’t do in order to fight terrorism and control our borders (“Ruling’s in & Don loses it,” Feb. 10).
The American people voted in a landslide victory that we want secure borders and to stop letting terrorists into our country — these judges should understand this. Carol Meltzer Manhattan
Kudos to the judges who halted President Trump’s executive order targeting people from predominantly Muslim majority countries.
Hundreds of refugees, students, researchers and businessmen and women had to endure extreme humiliation being forced off planes, stuck in limbo waiting for sanity to return to the United States.
Washington state was right to argue that the courts must provide a check on executive power. Trump’s order clearly discriminated against minorities.
Let’s hope common sense will prevail and Emperor Trump’s executive order be rescinded. Jagjit Singh Los Altos, Calif.
How can these liberal judges overturn Trump’s travel ban?
They’re not privy to classified information and know nothing about international affairs.
Just because there hasn’t been a recent terrorist attack on US soil for several years, from any of these seven countries, doesn’t mean these countries don’t pose a potential threat.
Will these judges take responsibility if a future terrorist attack originates from one of these terror-linked countries? Absolutely not. R. Fontana Westbrook, Conn.
This decision turns logic on its head.
Where does it end? Will the 9th Circuit now review the wisdom of all executive orders? The court has violated the fundamental concept of separation of powers.
