FLYNN QUITS
Nat’l security adviser out in Russia scandal
President Trump’s embattled national security adviser, Michael Flynn, abruptly resigned late last night amid mounting evidence that he had illegal communications with the Russian ambassador to the United States while still a private citizen. Flynn submitted his letter of resignation — including an apology — less than a month into the job.
The New York Times on Monday reprimanded an unidentified reporter who called Melania Trump “a hooker” at a New York Fashion Week event.
“At a party last night, a Times reporter who does not cover Washington or politics referred to an unfounded rumor regarding Melania Trump,” a Times rep said in a statement.
“The comment was not intended to be public, but it was nonetheless completely inappropriate and should not have occurred. Editors have talked to the reporter in question about the lapse.”
Supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, who was seated next to the reporter during the event on Sunday, spilled the beans on Twitter.
“Sat next to a journalist from the NYT last night who told me ‘Melania is a hooker,’er,’ ” Ratajkowski tweetedeted Monday morning.
The 25-year-old stun-tunner decried what sheshe called the “slut-sham-aming” of the first lady..
“Whatever your poli-politics it’s crucial to callcall this out for what itt is: slut shaming. I don’ton’t care ababout her nudess or sexual history and no one shshould,” she wrote.
MelaMelania posed nude years ago for photos that were later pub
lishlished by The Post. She and President Trump have furiously denied a report in the UK’s Daily Mail — later retracted — that she worked as an escort early in her US modeling career.
The first lady has sued the Mail for $150 million.
Ratajkowski, who backed Bernie Sanders in the presidential race, has been a strong defender of a woman’s right to dress how she pleases.
When “Project Runway” host Tim Gunn called one of her redcarpet looks in 2016 “appallingly vulgar,” the model returned fire.
“Western men in 2016: Want to ban women abroad from voluntarily covering themselves at the beach . . . then want women to cover up their ‘vulgar’ bodies at home,” she tweeted at the time.
