Trump vs. the Press: What a Delight To Watch

-

Trump’s latest press conference was like watching your favorite TV show — the time flies by and you wish it wouldn’t end (“Wildest Show on Earth,” Feb. 17).

What a difference from his predecessor. Trump’s answers were short and direct compared to Obama’s, which were long-winded and accompanied with so many pauses so he could search for words.

It’s great to see Trump treat the press the way it deserves to be treated: like a child who cried wolf one too many times. Ernesto Cavalier Brooklyn

The commander-in-tweet held a press conference in which he called the news media “very unfair” for reporting the truth, and for exposing his many lies.

He resembles 6-year-old children who scream “it’s not fair” when their parents tell them they can’t always get what they want.

Even when evidence clearly shows a statement is not true, he relentlessly doubles down, insisting the mainstream news media are “fake news.” This is not sane adult behavior. Bruce Joffe Piedmont, Calif.

It perplexes me that all these liberal “journalists” think their questions will doom the Trump presidency. Think again!

Trump has taken all their best shots and continues to move ahead. CNN and all the liberal media continue to get knocked to the mat time and time again.

Isn’t it about time for them to throw in the towel and raise Trump’s hand once and for all? Ron Zajicek Cortlandt Manor

Like Trump or not, the man is a fighter who re- fuses to put up with the usual inside-the-Beltway media BS and refuses to subject himself to anything less than an absolute fair shake. He may not always get it, but he’s sent a message that he’s not going to take it.

I suspect whipping the media into shape is part of his agenda in making America great again. Eugene Dunn Medford

I love our new president — I think he’s doing very well. He is a true leader. He doesn’t put up with nonsense.

We have not had that for a long time. Most of the media are against him, but I don’t buy their propaganda. He is returning our country to the free, capitalist nation is was set up to be.

Thank you, Trump. Tom Scott Monroe, NJ

After the latest bizarre Trump news conference, members of the media should be asking themselves why they waste time participating in such forums.

The narcissist-in-chief, who must always be the center of attention, uses these forums as a mediabashing opportunity, and the answers he provides to legitimate questions are worthless.

Trump, the minister of propaganda, doesn’t deserve to contort a press conference into bullying and boasting. Members of the media participating in such debacles give our “leader” a stature he doesn’t deserve. It is an exercise in futility. Oren Spiegler Upper Saint Clair, Pa.

How delightful to watch President Trump put the bullies in the mainstream media in their places, on live TV, no less.

The legacy media’s worn out their thesauruses trying to slander our president and everyone who voted for him. As Trump accurately noted, the leftist muckrakers aren’t even trying to tell Americans the truth; they merely serve special interests and their Democratic masters.

The ensuing howls of outrage from liberal pundits are sweet music to my ears. Bravo, President Trump! Pete McArdle Yorktown Heights

It’d be great if the media and Trump could reach common ground and get along to really make America great again. John Buonagura Stewart Manor
