A matter of class, not race Spero Dedes, calling Creighton-Rhode Island on TBS, very nearly accomplished the rare triple-redundancy when he said a URI freshman “has a bright future in front of him.” So close! If only he’d added, “going forward.”

LEAVE it to panderers to make a racial issue of Ezekiel Elliott’s two semi-successful attempts to expose an unwilling woman’s breasts at a St. Patrick’s Day parade. ESPN’s Max Kellerman strongly suggested that had Elliott been white he’d be feeling no media heat.

That stuff has to stop. Matters of wrong from right must cease being presented as matters of black or white. How do such explanations, excuses and rationalizations promote equality? Is what Elliott did in public, especially given pending charges against him by a woman alleging two 2016 domestic assaults, wrong or right?

UConn women 116-55 over Albany, Saturday. Two UConn starters played over 30 minutes; two subs played five, another played three. That stinks. Again. But that Geno Auri- emma? What a coach, what a champ!

CBS’ relentlessly ridiculous game-on distraction graphics Saturday included, “Notre Dame 3-11 as a lower-seeded team in the NCAA Tournament (last win 2003 versus Illinois).” What did this have to do with this game? Zip. Why not post players’ favorite colors?

Saturday Night Live: ESPN’s NCAA wrestling championships, Saturday, included analysis from actor Billy Baldwin, who wrestled for Binghamton and knows his stuff.

All those student-athletes entering the arenas with earphones in their ears? They’re listening to School Books On Tape — and in several languages.

Bronx Boy writes: “Does the NCAA have a sixth-man award? If so, it belongs to URI coach Danny Hurley, who spends more time on the court than his starters.” And he has the technical fouls and assorted hassles with opposing players and coaches to prove it!

Chris Webber, on TBS, about Duke’s Grayson Allen: “Some would argue that his little bit of trouble allowed other players to raise their role.” They would? Allen was suspended for one game.

Does one-and-done Kentucky have Senior Night? Yes. Patrons 65 and over receive a free cup of coffee.
