Weird BUT true
That’s a shell shocker. A British waitress says she cooked a hard-boiled egg, bit into it and found what looked like a tiny diamond inside.
Sally Thompson, 39, of Cumbria in northwest England, didn’t hit the jackpot. The gem is likely a cubic zirconia, a jeweler told her.
But her tale, an Internet puzzler, got a farmer to theorize the chicken may have eaten the stone, which passed though its system.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Katherine Sasseen put a sign outside her El Cerrito, Calif., home inviting people to use her bike for free.
When she returned from a walk, a man in her back yard pretended to inquire about the bike. Then he bolted, leaving behind her laptop and other electronics under a blanket. Call him a Taco dumbBell. Torren Alexander Cooksey, 18, was so drunk, he blacked out driving to a Portland, Ore., Taco Bell dressed in a “Deadpool” onesie. Amused cops tweeted his photo, saying: “This one was passed out behind the wheel on the lawn at Taco Bell wearing #Deadpool PJs.”
A rogue iguana was a fan fave at the Miami Open tennis tournament last week.
The lizard earned rounds of applause after perching on a scoreboard and “posing” for a pic with German player Tommy Haas.
The iguana was less popular with officials, delaying play for eight minutes as they tried to catch him with a towel and sweep him off with a broom — before ejecting him by the tail.
Police didn’t have to look very far to find a sleepy suspect wanted in a knifepoint holdup in Pittsfield, Mass.
Melissa Holden, 40, allegedly used the knife to swipe two pints of vodka and a Gatorade from a liquor store — then conked out in a nearby building hallway, where police arrested her.
Her attorney says she has no memory of the crime.
