Williams a ‘drag’ on show

-

FORMER “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars ” winner Alaska Thunderf - - k wants Wendy Williams to “sashay away” from hosting a show about the drag queen competition. “Frankly, I think the decision to make [Williams a host] . . . is tone deaf, untimely and incorrect,” the past winner told UnicornBooty.com. “I used to watch Wendy’s Hot Topics daily, and some of the things she said during Caitlyn Jenner’s very public transition were beyond questionable . . . I certainly don’t think she is the right person to be hosting.” Williams was tapped to host “Fierce Fridays” — a weekly live “viewing party” show that leads into and reacts to new episodes of the show, which has moved to VH1 from Logo. Another former contestant, Detox, wrote of Williams, “She is NOT an ally. She is transphobic. If anything, she is an . . . enemy profiting off our community.” Other fans tweeted about a 2009 incident in which New York drag queen Erickatoure Aviance was hassled in Williams’ audience under a “no-costumes dress code.” The show later apologized. Reps did not get back to us.
