Trump: N. Korea looking for trouble

-

President Trump said North Korea is “looking for trouble” just hours after the rogue regime vowed to respond with nuclear weapons to any military strikes by the United States.

“North Korea is looking for trouble,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. “If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! USA.”

A US aircraft carrier group led by the USS Carl Vinson is steaming to the Korean Peninsula following continued missile tests by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

North Korea said it was prepared to respond to any military operations by the United States.

“Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy ele- ments with our nuclear sight focused on the US invasionary bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theater but also in the US mainland,” the country’s state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping met last week with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago Florida resort to discuss trade and the threat North Korea poses to the region.

Trump pressed Xi to use his influence with North Korea to curb its nuclear ambitions.

In a tweet Tuesday, Trump reiterated his desire for China to intervene.

“I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!” he said.
