Erin died of throat cancer
“Happy Days” actress Erin Moran died of throat cancer that was diagnosed just five months ago, it was revealed Monday.
Moran did not have any illegal drugs at home when her body was found Saturday, Harrison County, Ind., officials said.
“Moran likely succumbed to complications of Stage 4 cancer,” Sheriff Rod Seelye and Coroner Gary Gilley said in a statement.
Two pals of Moran’s told The Post that she had been fighting throat cancer.
“She was in treatment and it was not going well,” said Paul Petersen, founder of the child-actor advocacy group A Minor Consideration.
Moran, 56, had been diagnosed in November, friend Steven Wishnoff, 56, said.
Despite reports of alcohol abuse, Wishnoff insisted that Moran was living well: “I know it’s not a tragic, sexy story just to say that Erin Moran was looking after her mother-in-law, with a husband who adored her, in a small town in Indiana.”
