Qns. gamer slay ‘twist’
He would kill again: vic’s kin
The homeless gamer who fatally stabbed a 19year-old in a fight over seating at a Queens Internet cafe isn’t the “victim” he claims to be, the teen’s grieving parents said Saturday, even as they acknowledged their son’s role in the fatal altercation.
Paul Kim allegedly twisted the knife while stabbing Yangpu Fan, 19, Wednesday night during an argument inside the K&D Internet Cafe on Union Street in Flushing — worsening his wounds, the teen’s devastated parents told The World Journal, a Chinese-language publication.
“This kind of behavior is not by accident,” Fan’s mom told the China Press.
When they saw their son’s body, it was in “a pool of blood,” said Fan’s father, who conceded that his son may have started the fight.
And the family told the China Press they believed Kim would kill again.
“This homeless man, he killed my son and the next day he will kill another man,” Fan’s father said.
Kim, 51, a regular at the 24-hour Internet cafe, had been sitting at a terminal a group of teens asked him to move over so they could play the online multiplayer game “League of Legends.”
But Kim balked at the request, cops said.
“He cursed at me,” Kim told cops, adding “the one in blue started punching me,” according to prosecutors at Kim’s arraignment on Friday.
“Why you starting s--t?” Kim said he asked one of the teens attacking him.
“He punched me and I grabbed him by the neck,” Kim told investigators. The teens allegedly hit Kim, who threatened them with a hammer before they fled.
The group returned, this time with Fan. More punches were thrown. Kim was then tossed over a computer screen before he allegedly stabbed Fan in the gut.
Kim is being held on manslaughter charges.
