Why Hillary Clinton Lost: Lies, E-mails and Benghazi

-

Hillary Clinton says that had the election been held on October 27, she would’ve won (“She Did It to Herself,” PostOpinion, Henry Olsen, May 4).

What planet is she on? She didn’t have a chance. Trying to blame FBI Director James Comey or WikiLeaks is ridiculous — they didn’t pull the lever in the election booth.

People had their minds made up before the 27th. She, like all her backers, can’t accept the fact that she lost.

She may have had more popular votes than President Trump, but only because she got them from the liberal populist states of California and New York. It’s time for liberals to accept that she lost and move on. Wendy Keller Kendall Park, NJ

When I was in high school, my track coach taught me that “an excuse is what you say to make yourself feel better when you have failed.”

If Hillary is looking to truly find out why the election went differently than she planned, her answer will be very apparent in the bathroom mirror. Roger Reichel Lake Ronkonkoma

How much longer must we endure the endless Hillary Clinton farewell speeches on her “why I lost the election” tour?

She lost (twice) and has not yet taken responsibility for her shortcomings. Hillary doesn’t understand that a lot of people didn’t trust her, didn’t like her and didn’t vote for her. Enough. J. Batson Manhattan

In her recent analysis as to why she lost the 2016 election, Hillary forgot two significant reasons that voters remembered on Nov. 8: 1) She was the worst secretary of state in our nation’s history, and 2) She’s a pathological liar. Jerry Dickstein Jericho

How much longer are we going to listen to Hillary make excuses for her disastrous loss of the presidential election?

She really believes her loss is everybody else’s fault. She can’t face the fact that people were tired of eight years of Democratic failure. She only cared about her bigmoney donors and forgot about middle-class average citizens. Kim F. Cody Whitestone

Instead of constantly whining about how the Comey investigation or the WikiLeaks information releases cost her the election, perhaps she should reflect on the fact that there would’ve been nothing to investigate or release if she had been less paranoid and more truthful and forthcoming with the American people. Joe Paino Manhattan

Hillary is the most pathetic political figure in American history. She reappears still whining and blaming ev- erybody under the sun for her crushing defeat except herself.

Look in the mirror, Hillary, and be thankful your corruption, deception and lies didn’t land you behind bars, where you belong. Joe Nugent Staten Island

Typical Clintonian obfuscation: Hillary said she takes full responsibility, but none of the blame. Please just fade into the sunset. Thomas Monaghan Broad Channel

Hillary is back to whining about her presidential election defeat, still blaming the Russians and Jim Comey.

Naturally, her loss could have nothing to do with her being a chronic liar; that she was forwarding classified information over a private email server; that she failed to provide security, resulting in the loss of life in Benghazi and then fabricated a cover-up; that she used the Clinton Foundation as a moneylaundering device, through which she sold the political favors to foreign entities.

Pathetic is an understatement. It’s time for her to acknowledge that she lost a legitimate election. Robert S. Dickstein Paramus, NJ

It’s been almost a half a year and Hillary Clinton still hasn’t accepted the election results. What hypocrisy.

On Oct. 27, Donald Trump supporters still would have voted for him because Hillary blew them off. Goodbye and good riddance, Hillary. David DiBello Brooklyn
