Nov. 27, 2009: Then-wife Elin Nordegren chases Woods out of their Orlando, Fla., mansion after learning of his affair with New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. The fleeing golfer crashes his car into a tree.
Dec. 5, 2009: After a week’s worth of daily sordid revelations about Woods’ extramarital shenanigans, the number of women claiming to have bedded the married athlete hits double digits.
Dec. 11, 2009: Woods apologizes for his infidelity and says he’ll be taking “an indefinite break from professional golf.”
Dec. 31, 2009: The golfer checks into a sex-addiction clinic in Mississippi as his wife moves out of their home. December 2009 to February 2010: Woods’ biggest sponsors, including AT&T, Accenture and Gatorade, drop him from endorsement deals, costing him about $22 million. Feb. 5, 2009: Woods finishes sex rehab.
Feb. 18, 2010: He gives a humiliating televised press conference, saying, “I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable. And I am the only person to blame.’’ He adds he’ll be returning to rehab.
