Fowler finally scores a birdie

-

AS Tiger Woods sinks to a new low with his DUI arrest, fellow golfer Rickie Fowler is on top of the world. After a long stint in the singles scene, Fowler is getting serious with his beautiful new girlfriend, the pole-vaulting star and stunning sports model Allison Stokke.

Fowler — once dubbed the “WAG-less Wonder” — had been famously single (“WAGs” being athletes’ Wives and Girlfriends). He had poked fun at himself at the 2016 Ryder Cup by shrugging in a photo surrounded by golfers kissing their other halves. By 2017, his singledom had become par for the course, and earlier this year he re-created the “single Rick” photo while on vacation at the exclusive Baker’s Bay resort in the Bahamas with Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Smylie Kaufman and their spouses.

He and Stokke just vacationed together, back in Baker’s Bay, where Fowler, the current world No. 12, posted a picture (opposite page) of them having a ball on the beach with the words, “When you wish you could still be on vacation! #RickFoundaChick.”

The Internet has been buzzing about the budding romance after Fowler, then Stokke, posted Instagram pictures of themselves together at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, in April.

California native Stokke, 28, shot to prominence after a picture of her competing at an event when she was just 17 went viral in 2007. She said of the time, “It just all feels really demeaning. I worked so hard for pole vaulting . . . and it’s almost like that doesn’t matter.”

Now Stokke has embraced the attention, and she has an amazing Instagram that shows her astonishing figure as she trains. She told ESPN last year of the shot that made her a sensation, “It’s like that picture is my alter ego, and sometimes I feel like I use it for a positive force, and sometimes I just choose to leave it out there and not engage with it.” Stokke has signed deals as a fitness model for Nike, Athleta, Uniqlo and GoPro.

While Fowler’s agent didn’t get back to us, one fan posted on the golfer’s Instagram, “Nice work Rick! Pole vault game is strong!”
