Hits just keep on coming for star rook

TORONTO — Another day and more accolades. That is Aaron Judge’s life these days.

Friday, the Yankees right fielder was named the AL Rookie of the Month for May after winning the award in April.

“What he has done the first two months has been as good as it gets,’’ manager Joe Girardi said of Judge, who batted .347 (33-for-95) with seven homers, 17 RBIs and a 1.083 OPS in 26 May games. “I know there are other rookies who have played well, but offensively and defensively he has been pretty good.’’

Judge didn’t slow down in the second game of June, crushing a two-run homer — his MLB-leading 18th — to right field in Friday night’s 7-5 loss to the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Judge is the first Yankee to win the award more than once, and is the fourth overall, joining Gary Sanchez, Robinson Cano and Hideki Matsui. Judge is the first Yankee to win a monthly award in backto-back months since Don Mattingly was the AL Player of the Month in August and September of 1985.

According to Girardi, Jacoby Ellsbury planned on taking batting practice on the field prior to Friday night’s game but he didn’t have a date for when Ellsbury will come off the disabled list.

With two games left at Rogers Centre, Girardi said he wasn’t sure if the center fielder will play before Tuesday, when the Yankees open a three-game series in The Bronx with the AL East rival Red Sox.
