HAMPTONS lawmakers are putting the brakes on reality shows filming out East after

Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian faced a backlash from the locals after filming there in 2014. Southampton Village Mayor Mark

Epley was heard saying at the kickoff for the Southampton Animal Shelter Gala, which takes place on July 8, “We don’t miss the Kardashians. I was tough on them, but they didn’t interfere that much with people in the village, and no one really paid that much attention.” The producers of Bravo’s “Summer House” have been in an uphill battle to find locations willing to let them film. They were denied a permit for a home in East Hampton, and Epley said an associate was approached this spring to rent a house for the show in Southampton Village, on Tuckahoe Lane. But the mayor said, “He refused. The village now has strict group-rental laws to stop these shows filming.” But “Summer House,” which is expected to return with original cast Lindsay Hubbard, Ashley and Lauren Wirkus, Carl Radke, Stephen McGee and Kyle Cooke, has now found a spot in Watermill. In the filming application, obtained by Page Six, the network asked for approval for a cast and crew of 35 for 40 days. The home is set on five acres with eight bedrooms and nine baths, a pool and billiard table. There does not appear to be a hot tub, the scene of many of the first season’s dramatic interactions. The cast originally applied for a film permit for 90 Napeague Harbor Road, where they shot last season, but were turned down this. Page Six previously reported that “Summer House” had experienced problems filming because venues and property owners had denied them access, fearing that the show would turn into “Jersey Shore meets the Hamptons.”
