Met’s baby-mama sheds tears

-

A beautiful singer who had a secret love child with married Mets star player José Reyes broke down in court and accused him of being a “terrible father” who “abandoned our daughter.” Reyes is being sued for child support by Christina Sanchez, the mother of their 8-year-old daughter, Liyah. Sanchez became emotional during a hearing on Monday in Nassau County. Reyes had skipped the hearing.

Sanchez’s attorney Steven Gildin told us, “Christina had an emotional outburst in court. She raised her voice at Reyes’ attorney, saying of his client, ‘He’s a terrible father. He abandoned our child. He refuses to talk to her or see her.’ Christina was crying hysterically.”

We’re told the judge threw Sanchez out of the courtroom for the disturbance and forbade her from returning.

Gildin continued, “All Christina wants is for him to be a father to their daughter and be part of the girl’s life. It’s hard for her to explain to this poor little girl why her daddy won’t see her or talk to her.”

Sanchez, a model and singer who is releasing the single “Love You Down” later this month, had a two-year relationship with Reyes until she was shocked to read in the New York Post that he had married his wife, Katherine, in 2008. Christina found out she was pregnant weeks after his wedding.

Reyes — who has three other daughters with his wife — initially offered a small amount of support for Liyah, and bought them a small house in South Jersey. But he allegedly cut off all support and contact when his wife found out about his secret family in 2015 after someone sent her a message on social media.

Reyes has admitted to being the father of Liyah and has been ordered to pay $11,500 a month in temporary child support. But sources say Sanchez wants triple that amount.

Meanwhile, Reyes — who earns an estimated $30 million a year — has also refused to reveal how much money he has in the bank. His lawyer didn’t get back to us. The next hearing is Aug. 7.
