Trump to media: Revenge is tweet!

- Mark Moore

President Trump blasted the media in a tweet on Tuesday after he was criticized for using Twitter to call for support of his travel ban and to upbraid the mayor of London for comments about Saturday’s terrorist attack in London.

“The FAKE MSM [mainstream media] is working so hard trying to get me not to use Social Media. They hate that I can get the honest and unfiltered message out,” Trump wrote.

Minutes later, he lashed out again and singled out a number of news outlets by name.

“Sorry folks, but if I would have relied on the Fake News of CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, washpost or nytimes, I would have had ZERO chance winning WH,” he wrote.

In a series of tweets Sunday and Monday, Trump ripped the Justice Department for offering a “watered down” version of his travel ban and to call for “extreme vetting” of visitors after Saturday’s London Bridge at- tack, which killed seven people.

He also chided London Mayor Sadiq Khan for telling people there’s “no reason to be alarmed” when they see a heightened police presence on the streets after the attack.

In response, Khan suggested canceling Trump’s visit to England this fall, arguing the country shouldn’t “roll out the red carpet to the president of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for.”

But UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, a former mayor of London, said the invitation should be honored.

“The invitation has been issued and accepted, and I see no reason to rescind that,” he told BBC radio on Tuesday.
