Shocking pink terror knives
The bloodthirsty terrorist gang that killed eight people and injured nearly 59 more near London Bridge slashed their victims with bright pink ceramic kitchen knives.
A photo of the peculiar blade used by one of the attackers in the June 3 incident was released Saturday by the Metropolitan Police.
“We need to know more about these unusual knives. Where are they from? Where might the attackers have bought them from?” police said.
The gang pulled out the blades after plowing a van into the crowd of people on the London Bridge.
After the bridge attack, they went on a stabbing spree at the nearby Borough Market, a popular attraction.
Cops said the bloodshed would have been much worse if not for the gang’s failed try at renting a larger truck.
The ringleader tried to rent an 8-ton truck just hours before the attack, police said. Khuram Butt, a 27-year-old Pakistan-born British citizen, had to take a van instead, when the card he tried to pay with did not go through.
All three attackers were shot dead before they could make their way back to the van, which held a stash of Molotov cocktails.
Police said they found “13 wine bot- tles with rags wrapped around them and believed to be filled with a flammable liquid,” as well as two blowtorches in the battered white van.
Butt and his two accomplices, Rachid Redouane, 30, who claimed to be Moroccan-Libyan, and Youssef Zaghba, a 22-year-old Italian national of Moroccan descent, were killed by police eight minutes after the first emergency call.
