SAVING OUR SKIN

Beachgoers in New York may not need to pack their own sunscreen — the city is providing it for them in a pilot program developed by the Parks Department. The city has placed 100 bright-yellow sunscreen dispensers at 27 spots across the five boroughs. The nonprofit Impact Melanoma and the BrightGuard company donated the dispensers and 264 gallons of SPF 30 lotion. The pilot program will be evaluated at the end of the summer.
