The Corporation-Boycott Frenzy
Charles Gasparino expressed his displeasure with corporations deciding not to sponsor some pretty heinous actions (“The Arts at War,” PostOpinion, June 14).
Yet he says nothing about how those on the left have incorporated boycotts, and even extortion (hello, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson), to such an extent that creating turmoil over conservative action has become normal. It’s no longer thought of as a problem, much less a conspiracy. Edward Rubenstein Devon, Pa.
If Gasparino’s logic prevails, corporations are to be compelled to fund artistic efforts without regard to content.
Artists are free to line up willing sponsors. No one is prohibiting them from exhibiting their art.
Art is essential, but so is the freedom to choose how to spend a dollar. We all support art based on our own criteria. Corporations should be given the same freedom. G. Diamond Holland, Pa.
