A woman’s headless corpse was found floating off Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, according to witnesses who said it appeared the victim had been deliberately dismembered.

“It was brutal,” said a Carroll Gardens man who found the body and asked to remain anonymous. “The woman wasn’t just murdered — she was butchered.”

“This body was dismembered and the cuts looked clean, like it was chainsawed.”

The man and his wife spotted the naked, decomposing body in Red Hook Channel while walking their dog at around 11:20 a.m.

The legs were also missing parts, and there was a tattoo on the left thigh, he added.

A NYPD spokesman confirmed that cops responded to a call about a body at that time, but couldn’t confirm the man’s claims that the body was brutalized.
