Conforto struggled to grip a bat on Sunday, forcing him to leave the game.

Where Conforto will fit in the outfield when he’s ready to play is still unclear: Curtis Granderson is the team’s hottest hitter and Yoenis Cespedes has returned to fulltime status, according to manager Terry Collins.

“We are looking to interchange and give guys rest, with Ces coming back he’s played five in a row so he’s certainly an everyday guy now,” Collins said. “We’ll pick our spots and try to give everybody some at-bats.”

Zack Wheeler will throw another bullpen session before a final determination is made on his status for this weekend. The righthander, who was placed on the disabled list last week with biceps tendinitis, threw in the bullpen on Sunday. He is tentatively scheduled to face the Phillies on Saturday, but Rafael Montero would take the start if Wheeler isn’t ready.

First baseman Peter Alonso was named the Florida State League Player of the Week for June 19-25. Over that stretch, Alonso — who was the organization’s second-round pick in 2016 from Florida — was 12-for-29 (.414) with three homers and 14 RBIs.
