Ambulance EMT ‘booze pusher’ p vid
The FDNY is hunting for an ambulance worker who apparently prodded a patient to swig liquor on the way to the hospital — andd filmed the disgraceful antics.s.
A 36-second video montagege titled “FDNY EMT gives in-intoxicated patient more alcoholhol on the way to the ER” was postedosted on YouTube last week.
The video mocks an unidenti-dentified woman in an orange outfit strapped to a gurney inside a moving ambulance. A caption reads, “Intox Sundays.”
“Come on, a little more, little more,” urges a man, who is not shown, as the patient swills from airplane mini-bottles.
Another caption reads, “Told her she has from now till we get to the hospital to finish all that liquor, or I will throw it out.”
The next caption reads “Bottle number 6” as the patient downs another mini-bottle.
The final caption reads, “That moment when the alcohol runs out” as the woman rummages through her purse.
“It’s in that bag? It’s your bag,” the man tells her.
Sources say the video clips were first put on Snapchat and shared with select recipients. Someone then used a cellphone to film the clips and posted the video on YouTube on Monday under the name “Anonymous, Anonymous.” It generated thousands of views and a host of comments blasting the patient abuse.
By Wednesday, YouTube yanked the video for violating its policy on “harassment and bullying,” a notice said.
“The matter is under investigation,” said FDNY spokesman Jim Long.
The department’s Bureau of Investigations and Trials (BITS) is determined to find if any FDNY employee was involved in the disgusting display. “BITS wants this person very badly,” an insider said.
While FDNY officials said it’s unclear if the video was taken in a city ambulance, EMTs told The Post the interior layout in the images is identical to that in FDNY ambulances.
The “on-board suction equipment and red oxygen regulators” on the wall next to the patient “lead me to believe it is an FDNY ambulance,” an EMT said. A wall phone is also located in the same place in FDNY vehicles.
“It’s absolutely appalling,” the EMT said, referring to any crew member involved in the video. “This person should be prosecuted for violating a patient’s rights — and their dignity.”
Another EMT said the actions endangered the patient by “encouraging an obviously intoxicated person to consume more alcohol.”
