OAKLAND, Calif. — Veteran guard Nick Young is getting a new start with the Warriors, agreeing to a $5.2 million, one-year contract Wednesday with the NBA champions.

Young’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, confirmed the deal in a message to the Associated Press. Golden State general manager Bob Myers also said the team would finalize a contract with Young once the free agency moratorium period concludes Thursday.

In addition, forward Omri Casspi is joining the Warriors on a $2.1 million, one-year contract, a person with direct knowledge of the deal said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

This will be the 29-year-old Casspi’s sixth team as he enters his ninth NBA season, including two separate stints in Sacramento.

He played for the Kings, Pelicans and Timberwolves last season, averaging 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.9 minutes.

Young, 32, last month declined his player option for next season with the Lakers, which would have paid him more than $5.6 million, and became a free agent.

Young averaged 13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 60 games for the Lakers. THUNDER: Andre Roberson, a restricted free agent, agreed to a threeyear, $30-million deal with Oklahoma City, according to reports. The forward was an NBA all-defensive second team selection last season.

CELTICS: Boston is discussing a sign and trade, involving sending Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley to the Jazz, to make cap room to sign Gordon Heyward to the four-year, $128 million max deal they agreed upon, according to ESPN. PACERS: Indiana waived guard Monta Ellis and will use the stretch provision over five years on his remaining $11.2 million, according to reports.
