Miosotis Familia, an NYPD officer executed by a man who hated police, was mourned by a sea of blue and her three children (above) yesterday. In her eulogy, Familia’s sister, Mercedes, called on New Yorkers to “hug a cop.”

Embrace your brothers and sisters in blue.

That’s what slain NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia — whose life was cut tragically short by a cophating killer last week — would have wanted, her family said Tuesday at a tearful funeral service in The Bronx.

“We have to show love,” Familia’s sister, Mercedes Proefrock, insisted during her emotional eulogy in front of the 4,000 people who packed into the World Changers Church on Grand Concourse.

“This has to stop. This has to stop. Please, if you see a police officer in blue, hug them and say thank you . . . That’s all she would have asked for.”

It was a sea of blue outside the church, where thousands of officers from around the world, including Canada and the United Arab Emirates, gathered to pay their respects to Familia, who was gunned down early last Wednesday while sitting in a mobile command van.

The cop’s children also gave touching eulogies at the service, which ran for more than two hours and began with a performance of “Amazing Grace.” They remembered their mom as a selfless caretaker, proud member of the NYPD — and so much more.

“My mom, she is a protector, defender, guidance counselor, spiritual adviser, philosopher, philanthropist, theorist and mother,” 20-year-old Genesis Villella said through tears.

“I’m so grateful that words can’t even explain how I feel right now, but I’m so happy, I’m so elated that she’s looking down upon us, that she’s still taking care of us.”

Villella embraced her younger siblings, 12-year-old twins Peter and Delilah Vega, as she recalled how much family meant to the 48-year-old Familia.

“Me and my siblings were the most important things to my mom,” she said.

When Familia decided to become a cop, Villella was proud and bragged to her friends that her mom was a police officer, she said.

“She lived for us, and she went to work every day for us. And she took that tour knowing the consequences that it came with,” she said. “Knowing that it was a little bit more dangerous.

“And I am so privileged to be able to experience such a selfless love like that,” she added.

There are so many things she already misses about her mom, Villella said.

“I miss your big beautiful brown eyes. They’re always so clear and sparkly,” she said. “I miss your beautiful soft brown skin that felt like velvet. I miss your beautiful black curly hair that looks like mine.

“But I’m glad that you’re still here with me, with us,” Villella continued. “I love you, Mom.”

Peter also had a heartfelt message for mourners, urging them to “say, ‘I love you’ you see.”

“She did what the 36,000 officers did — put on a uniform to sacrifice,” he said. “Knowing that she loved her kids, she made sure we had every single thing we wanted. She was brave enough to do so, knowing that there’s consequences like danger. But she loved us. She wanted to sacrifice for us so she did it.”

“Be appreciative of what you have,” he added later.

Familia’s casket was draped with an NYPD flag and surrounded by a large photo of the officer beaming in her blue uniform.

Nine police helicopters flew overhead as the coffin was carried out of the church to the tune of to anybody
