Hit-run skater teen dieses
The teenage skateboarder struck by aa hitand-run driver in Brooklyn Sunday has died, authorities said Monday.
The mother of Alejandro “Alex’’ Tello,, 18, was so griefstricken that she went to the crash scene in Sheepshead Bay to search for one of her son’s shoes that was knocked off on impact, according to relatives.
“They only gave us one of his shoes, andd she wanted to see if she could get the other,” said Alejandro’s older brother, Benjamin Tello Jr., 20.
Alejandro was skateboarding along Avenue T at around 3:10 p.m. when he was hit by a white BMW SUV as it turned south onto West 10th Street, surveillance video shows.
Alejandro, a junior at New Utrecht HS, was on his way home from work at Adventures Amusement Park on Shore Parkway at the time, Benjamin said.
Cops located the BMW abandoned on Bay 14th Street. They are seeking the driver.
