‘Left kid’ to gamble
A mom left her 9-year-old daughter inside a vehicle in a Queens parking garage for an hour and a half while she gambled in a nearby casino, authorities said Monday.
Resorts World Casino security guards found the girl Sunday after they were flagged down by a passerby who reported “a child unattended in a car” on the second level at the South Ozone Park facility, one of the workers said.
The guards called the NYPD and used surveillance cameras to identify the child’s mother, Hui Shao Lin, 42, sources said.
Cops found Hui seated at a video gambling machine, sources said. She told them her daughter was in the car, according to a criminal complaint.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” the woman told cops, according to the court document.
Lin was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
The girl was released to a family member.
