Weird BUT true

A New Hampshire man had a surprise reunion this week with the high-school ring he lost 52 years ago.

Ray Goodwin, 70, got a call from Ann Kerrigan, who found the initialed Lebanon HS ring in her backyard in Wilder, Vt., just across the state line — and three miles from where Goodwin grew up in New Hampshire.

An Alaska man popped the question to his girlfriend this week. But when she refused to marry him, he allegedly threatened to pop the girlfriend — with a loaded pistol.

Police charged Miguel Angel Serrano-Moya, 25, of Fairbanks, with felony assault for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at his beloved.

Eight siblings from Indiana could teach that guy a thing or two about marriage — after amassing 448 years of combined marriage among them.

Bill Clinkenbeard and wife Karen of Freelandville, Ind., have been married for 59 years. Brother Bruce Clinkenbeard and wife Sally have been married for 53 years. A sister, who died in 2013, had been married 63 years.

Marriage involves “a lot of give and take — and a lot of love,” says Bill.

A single mom with lupus and two failing kidneys was saved by a complete stranger.

Kara Yimoyines got a kidney donation from Nicole Baltzer, who read about Kara’s plight on Facebook, considered the situation so “unfair,” and was found to be a perfect match for the woman she didn’t know from her same town, Winchester, Mass.

No drugs and no bagels with poppy seeds.

That’s what a federal judge in Portland, Ore., required of Jason Blomgren, who pleaded guilty to collaborating with Ammon Bundy to take over an Oregon wildlife refuge.

Blomgren, who blamed a positive drug test on an “everything” bagel, says he’ll now eat egg whites for breakfast. David K. Li, Wires
