The Mayor May Not Care, But Voters Will Remember

-

How much more can New Yorkers take of a mayor who simply does not care about anyone but himself (“‘Read my lips: I don’t care,’ ” July 27)?

Come November, dump Mayor de Blasio. New York City deserves better. Mary Ann Weibel Staten Island

Let me get this straight: De Blasio hops on a subway after the NYPD was directed to disperse the homeless from the stations, then he promptly releases his five-point plan to fix the subways.

Hey, clueless, where’s the plan for the evergrowing homeless population? You can’t make this stuff up. Thomas Fraumeni Staten Island

Maybe if the mayor had ever seriously helped our homeless he wouldn’t have to sweep the problem under the rug by booting them from the subway for his F-train photo-op.

Hopefully, New Yorkers boot him from City Hall just as quickly Johnny Sollitto Brooklyn

“Read my lips: I don’t care.” This is our arrogant mayor telling voters that he doesn’t care that he was caught sweeping the homeless from Brooklyn train stations so that he could look like he had cleaned up the city.

He also doesn’t care that he allows people to pee legally in the streets. And he doesn’t care that he allows Gov. Cuomo to ruin our subways.

George H.W. Bush said “read my lips” and then said “no new taxes.” It helped to win the election, but later ruined him when it didn’t come true. He lost to President Bill Clinton.

I pray de Blasio loses to anyone. He has turned our city from the splendor of Rome to a socialistic ruin, an embarrassing latrine. David Lawrence Manhattan

De Blasio doesn’t care or doesn’t know enough to care. His delusional lifestyle puts James Thurber’s “Walter Mitty” to shame. He needs to live among us, not above us.

De Blasio will not come out of his fantasy, and most media outlets praise him to high heaven instead of condemning the hell that he created for us.

It’s mostly The Post that takes this mayor to task; I wish other outlets would not give him a free pass.

We need grown-up leadership, and de Blasio does not fit the bill. Elio Valenti Brooklyn

De Blasio said, “I don’t care?” Well, I don’t care to hear any more about his shoo-in shot at reelection.

If he does get a second term, New York City voters will get exactly what they deserve. Gerry Muir Mamaroneck

Since the day de Blasio was elected, just about everything he’s done screams “I don’t care.”

From his chronic lateness to his jet-setting across to Europe in the wake of NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia’s assassination, his actions show his disregard for anyone but himself.

While the city crashes and burns on his watch, his priority is whatever’s best for him.

The city cannot rid itself of this clueless egomaniac fast enough. Peter Kelly, Hazlet, NJ

There is an old saying: The fish rots from the head down.

If de Blasio is going to lie about the homeless being booted from subway stations, his minions are going to lie for him to keep their jobs.

During his 3 ¹/2 years in office, I wonder how many people have resigned their positions or been fired rather than cover for him.

He’s being sued by his former deputy commissioner of asset management, Ricardo Morales, for that very reason. Kim Cody Whitestone

The arrogance of de Blasio never ceases to amaze me. And the blind loyalty of Democrats is quite simply over the top.

He treats being mayor as a mere inconvenience while pushing his national agenda. When he’s caught in a lie, his answer is, “I don’t care.” He’s the worst mayor in the history of this great city.

It is inconceivable that Democrats think he deserves another term.

New Yorkers, please, show some class, show some backbone and show Big Bill the door. Alan Brooks Brooklyn
