TRAINING DAY

- —Brian Costello

LEG’ UP

Rookie tight end Jordan Leggett had a strong practice. The fifth-round pick from Clemson repeatedly made nice catches and looked explosive.

FAR FROM PEAKE PERFORMANCE

Second-year wide receiver Charone Peake had his second straight bad day. He had another drop and lined up wrong on one play, drawing the ire of offensive coordinator John Morton.

CAUGHT MY EYE

People are speculating that Todd Bowles might be fired at the end of this season, but the pressure is not getting to the third-year coach. Bowles, a former NFL safety, jumped into one drill against tight ends and showed he still has some burst left. Bowles laughed later that he may be feeling some pain on Monday.

QB DERBY

There was not much to glean from Sunday’s practice with the quarterbacks. No one was spectacular and no one was terrible. Josh McCown went 8-for-11 with a sack in 19 reps; Christian

Hackenberg went 8-for-11 with three sacks in 16 reps; Bryce Petty went 6-for-10 with one interception (that may have been an incompletion depending on your vantage point) in 14 reps.

MEDICAL REPORT

Rookie WRs ArDarius Stewart (groin, thumb) and Chad Hansen (knee) were held out of team drills again. DB Corey White (back) did not practice. CB Bryson Keeton was waived/injured after tearing an ACL on Saturday.
