De Blasio’s Blasé Policy On Times Square Tormenters

They’re back and bolder than ever (“Desrudas,” July 31).

Times Square costume kooks and naked desnudas are still harassing and bullying tourists for tips, as they have no problem traipsing past the Designated Activity Zones (DAZ) because they know they won’t be arrested in Comrade de Blasio’s city.

I don’t know what was worse: Times Square in the ’70s and ’80s, with the peep shows and porn flicks, or today’s Island Of Misfit Toys with the abusive, crass and classless Minnie Mice, naked painted women and obnoxious costumed characters who give the beloved Cookie Monster a bad name.

To tell you the truth, the peep shows and porn are looking pretty good to me these days.

Why doesn’t de Blasio hop on his CitiBike and take a quick spin up to 47th street and clean up this embarrassment?

Obnoxious characters are harassing tourists in Times Square, more subway lines are going dark and taxpayers are shelling out $73 million for Wall Street hotel rooms for the homeless.

We’ve seen the report on Times Square harassers, but the reason some harassers aren’t being arrested is that they’re illegal immigrants in a sanctuary city, and de Blasio doesn’t want to upset anyone.
