Kate’s doing great things

- Cindy Adams KATE Beckinsale’s

hands were thick with diamonds. Hers? “I wish,” she said. Kate Beckinsale’s bones were inside a sexy Reem Acra gown. Hers? “I wish,” she said.

So what’s hers? She’s in the movie “The Only Living Boy in New York.” In reel life, she’s Doing It with a young guy, Callum

Turner. In real life she’s 44, a mother, divorcée and her part-time boyfriend

Matt Rife is only 21. So with her off-screen hunk way younger than her onscreen hunk, Miss gorgeous Kate’s just doin’ what comes natcherly.

No wonder she looks that great.

I now quote a mouth with access to the film. The mouth said: “This is about people who f - - k around in New York . . . and everyone goes home happy.”

Another thing. Kate’s reel lover Turner, who looks like the real Eddie Redmayne is set to play Eddie Redmayne’s brother in “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2.” So have respect. Who else tells you these things? Another thing. “The Only Living Boy in New York” title comes from a Simon and Garfunkel song.

I talked with Kate. I could report what she said. But who cares to quote her? Better to be her! Cynthia Nixon’s in this movie. “I play a neurotic, sad, long suffering fragile wife whose marriage is bad and who takes pills.”

That’s the professional side. On the personal side, the hair’s now very blond, the eyelashes very mascaraed and she’s married to Christine Marinoni and she works for the LGBT community and she’s looking really beautiful. Getting it on, getting it off or just getting it is getting both actresses to glow. Very New Yorky, the film goes Upper West Side, Lower East Side and swings from mattress to mattress. Jeff Bridges, who’s many people’s favorite actor and whose multiple awards (including an Oscar) almost outnumber his teeth, plays an eccentric neighbor. A boozy sort. “My character’s not a real drunk,” Jeff says. “He’s maybe a good person.” The happily married husband and father’s lone dip into offbeathood is a new big bold bushy beard.
