Dunkin’s Pathetic Excuse For Anti-Police ‘Smear’

-

Dunkin’ Donuts claims the layout of a Brooklyn store led to the rude treatment of two NYPD officers (“No Dunkin’ Coppuccino,” Aug. 7).

So what will happen to the clerk who reportedly stated in front of a line of customers, “I don’t serve cops”?

Something must be done to prevent this from happening again, not only to the men and women of the NYPD, but to other customers. In the meantime, we will be watching and boycotting. Lawrence Natale Staten Island

I’ve heard some good spin meisters, but the statement from Dunkin’ Donuts spokesperson Michelle King was a doozy.

She said the cops were snubbed because the Bed-Stuy store’s layout meant the cops didn’t know where to order.

If that is true, which is totally unrealistic nonsense, why did the employee reportedly say, “I don’t serve cops”? Wouldn’t the normal response be, “you’re in the wrong line”?

I hope the knucklehead who was allegedly so rude and disrespectful toward the officers is terminated.

America may run on Dunkin’, but Americans are kept safe by our great officers, especially New York’s Finest. Peter Orsi Brooklyn

I was appalled and troubled to hear that a cophating Dunkin’ Donuts worker denied service to hard working officers.

Michael Palladino, head of the detectives union, called it a disgrace that should not go unattended. I totally agree.

Palladino also said the city’s elected officials deserve blame for having “encouraged this type of behavior by constantly demonizing cops.”

If one worker can get away with this, more workers at other chains might do the same, which creates a virus of hate.

What some people don’t understand is that law-enforcement officers are there to serve and protect them.

Now the focus of some seems to be to deny service to those who protect the rights of the many. Frederick Bedell Glen Oaks Village

Had a member of any ethnic or racial minority group been refused service, there would be protests and demonstrations throughout the city.

All New Yorkers, not just officers, should boycott Dunkin’ until management takes a strong stand against those who apparently insulted and demeaned New York’s Finest.

Our freedom to drink coffee wherever we wish is protected by our cops, and we should show them some love and support. Mel Young Lawrence
