Thor, Familia close to returns
Jeurys Familia and Noah Syndergaard remain in the Mets’ plans for this season and are moving forward in their respective rehabs, according to manager Terry Collins.
Of the two, Familia is closer to returning and is scheduled Tuesday to make his f irst minor league rehab appearance since undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his right shoulder. Familia is expected to pitch an inning for the Gulf Coast Mets of the Rookie League.
Syndergaard, whose throwing had been limited to flat ground, is expected to throw his first bullpen session since suffering a partially torn lat in late April.
Matt Harvey had no issues following his one-inning rehab start for Sin- gle-A Brooklyn on Saturday, according to Collins, and team officials are considering where he will pitch next.
Jacob deGrom’s right triceps shouldn’t be an issue Tuesday night when he faces the Yankees, according to Collins. DeGrom departed his last start with a contusion after taking a line drive off the arm against the Phillies.
Michael Conforto, whose last five hits were all home runs, went 0-for-4 in Monday’s 4-2 loss to the Yankees. Conforto was the fifth player in franchise history with such a streak that had reached five, joining Bobby Bonilla, Ike Davis, Neil Walker and Lucas Duda — who established a team-record with a home run on eight consecutive hits in 2015.
