METS NOTES

-

“At this point in the season, after missing what he did last year at the end of the season, we are going to be careful with him down the stretch,” Collins said. “There might be a little fatigue in there.”

DeGrom, who missed the final month-plus of last season after undergoing surgery to relocate the ulnar nerve in his elbow, said it would be a “big thing” to reach 200 innings. His career best was 191 innings in 2015.

“That was kind of a goal coming into the year to try to get there,” deGrom said. “Just keep going out there every fifth day.” ➤ Jacob Rhame was acquired from the Dodgers as the player to be named later for Curtis Granderson. The 24-year-old Rhame, a right-handed reliever, was rated as the Dodgers’ No. 28 prospect, according to Baseball America. In trading Granderson, Neil Walker, Jay Bruce, Lucas Duda and Addison Reed, the Mets have acquired six minor league relievers to this point and saved about $13 million. The Mets still are awaiting a player to be named later from the Brewers in the Walker deal.

➤ Matt Harvey is scheduled to pitch Monday for Double-A Binghamton in his third rehab appearance. The right-hander pitched three innings for Single-A Brooklyn last week in his comeback from a stress injury to his right scapula.

➤ Jeurys Familia will have to make consecutive rehab appearances in relief before he is considered for a return to the Mets, according to Collins. The righthander pitched a scoreless inning for Single-A St. Lucie on Saturday.
