‘Mad Max’ Kennedy arrested

-

TWO members of the Kennedy clan — Matthew “Max” Kennedy, 52, the ninth kid of Robert F. Kennedy, and Matthew’s daughter Caroline, 22 — were arrested for refusing to tone down a raucous party Sunday near the family’s famed Hyannis Port, Mass., compound. The incident included Matthew allegedly “throwing himself into the wall” before being cuffed. According to a Barnstable, Mass., police report, cops responded to a noise complaint at a home at about 1 a.m. According to officer Armando Feliciano, Matthew, a guest, “told me to leave . . . pointed his finger at my chest and refused any sort of civil communications.” When cops tried to enter, “Kennedy responded by . . . screaming incoherently and throwing himself into the wall . . . When he hit the wall, he grabbed a wall cabinet (filled with glass valuables) and threw it, smashing the contents.” As Matthew was arrested for disturbing the peace, guests yelled, “You don’t know who you are messing with!” Outside, “we were surrounded again by a group of persons.” That’s when the officer saw daughter Caroline “grab hold of my cruiser door and open it . . . As she opened the door . . . the crowd closed in. I was able to get the door closed.” Father and daughter were taken in and released on their own recognizance. Matthew, who could not be reached on Tuesday, reportedly was arraigned on Monday and entered a not-guilty plea. Caroline’s arraignment is scheduled for November.
