NFL: Browns to turn to another rookie QB

DeShone Kizer has strong-armed his way into a starting job. The rookie quarterbac­k will start Cleveland’s exhibition at the Buccaneers on Saturday, and unless he flops or gets hurt, Kizer will start the Browns’ Sept. 10 season opener against the Steelers.

ESPN reported, citing a source, the Browns are attempting to trade veteran Brock Osweiler.

WNBA: Liberty take 6th straight win in blowout

In Indianapol­is, Sugar Rodgers scored all 16 of her points in the first half and the Liberty beat the Fever 71-50 Wednesday night for their sixth straight win. Tina Charles added 13 points and nine rebounds for New York (18-12). Bria Hartley had 12 points, and Epiphanny Prince 11.

MLB: Bosox pick up speedster Davis

The AL East-leading Red Sox boosted their outfield depth by acquiring speedy Rajai Davis from the Athletics for 18-year-old minor league outfielder Rafael Rincones. Hours earlier, Boston put center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. on the 10-day DL with a sprained left thumb. Boston beat the Indians 6-1 to maintain its 4 ¹/2-game lead over the Yankees.
