Harborside, a new development in Jersey City, has snagged talented chef Leah Cohen, the chef/owner of Pig & Khao, to launch a new anchor restaurant.

Piggyback Bar is slated to open at Harborside, 210 Hudson St., next month.

It’s one of several new food and beverage concepts that will open there in the next 18 months, a spokesman for Harborside told Side Dish. The 3,000-square-foot eatery will feature an additional 1,600-squarefeet outdoor space. The number of seats is still being finalized, a spokesperson said.

Piggyback Bar features a menu of “elevated American bar fare fused with Asian flavors,” and “Asian-inspired cocktails,” as well as a large beer selection and wines by the glass.

While Cohen is still working on the final menu, dishes being considered include piggyback ribs with crispy garlic; salt and pepper fried shrimp with Chinese 5 spice and kewpie mayo; and mussels with Chinese sausage, dashi and fried mantou buns.

“We have been looking to expand our brand outside of New York City,” Cohen tells Side Dish. “The Jersey City Harborside community was a logical choice, being so close to the city and a beautiful, vibrant area with amazing views. After learning more about the future of the area we were totally sold.”

Fresh-pressed juices are getting crafty.

Juice Press will be back as the US Open’s official cold-pressed juice for the third year in a row.

Among the varieties are Love Me, Doctor Green, Glo, Mint Chip Protein, Advanced Berry Blend and Watermelon.
