Didi Gregorius envelops Ronald Torreyes as they celebrate after the Bombers’ 10-1 win, which included a six-run first inning helped along by Jean Segura (inset, left) and the bumbling Mariners. The Yanks, 2 ½ games behind Boston, now play host to the Indians and Red Sox for seven straight.

About 200 miles west of Yankee Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Japan and Texas were vying for the Little League World Series title.

The Mariners offered a tribute all in a single inning in The Bronx.

The visitors committed five errors in an ugly first inning, allowing the Yankees to score six times and never look back in a 10-1 win.

“It was obviously the worst inning we’ve had all year,” Seattle manager Scott Servais said. “Embarrassing.”

According to Elias Sports Bureau, the previous team to commit five errors in one inning was the 1977 Cubs. Mariners shortstop Jean Segura was responsible for three of the errors, including two on one play.

“It was a rough inning,” Segura said. “Crazy one. You don’t want to see that.”

Yankees opponents have now committed a majorleague high 111 errors.

Left fielder Ben Gamel, who played in six games for the Yankees last season before being traded, was charged with the first error for letting Gary Sanchez’s RBI single roll under his glove.

Segura then got in on the act when Didi Gregorius hit a high pop-up to shallow left f ield that dropped among three Mariners and right by Segura’s glove — which he seemed to pull back at the last second — to load the bases.

“[Center f ielder Guill- ermo Heredia] called it,” Segura said. “I don’t know why they gave me an error. I was in on the pop-up and as soon as I heard him say, ‘I got it,’ I just kind of [froze].”

Seattle starter Andrew Albers should have avoided further damage when Chase Headley rolled a potential double-play ball to third base. Kyle Seager made a backhanded stop but botched the transfer and everyone was safe.

“My f irst thought was I was going to go to second with it and then when I couldn’t get it out of my glove cleanly, I figured take a few steps, touch third and then you can go to f irst,” Seager said. “I didn’t do either one of them.”

Asked what was going through his mind in the inning, Seager responded, “Not good thoughts. A lot of derogatory words.”

After Albers took matters into his own hands and struck out the next batter,
