$$-raiser Blas kicks it with thong throng

- Ian Mohr

Mayor de Blasio danced with men in thongs at a reelection campaign event — and also recalled initially striking out with his future wife in the 1990s.

“I’m glad you came back for the more toned-down, conservative show this year,” the mayor quipped on stage Monday night at the second “LGBT for BDB” fund-raiser at The Cutting Room hosted by Cynthia Nixon, “Orange Is the New Black” star Taylor Schilling and Alan Cumming.

Tickets ranged from “Students, Seniors & Strapped” for $25 to categories including Cute ($60), Hot ($175), Hotter ($350), Hottest ($1,000) and Wow! ($4,950).

“It was like a gay-pride party and even the mayor got into the action! When the show wrapped, he and wife Chirlane McCray got up on stage and started dancing and taking photos with the night’s male backup dancers — who were wearing nothing but thongs,” an attendee said.

In his speech, “De Blasio began by asking the audience if they’d ever seen a hotter 62-year-old,” referring to his wife. “She came [to the event] four years ago and became hotter with each passing year.”

He also “talked about the day he met McCray in 1991 and how he immediately fell in love,” the attendee said. “He said, ‘I heard violins playing, I heard angels singing, and Chirlane felt — absolutely nothing.’ ”

De Blasio said he tried for weeks to get her attention — and eventually won her heart.
