GIANTS NOTES

-

The move came less than a day after Odighizuwa got a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. When a reporter pointed out the Giants could have kept Odighizuwa through the suspension and not have it cost them a roster spot, McAdoo replied, “That would’ve been the thought, yup.”

When asked why they didn’t, McAdoo answered, “I have no details to offer.”

➤ McAdoo wasn’t much more forthcoming on Odell Beckham

Jr., still not practicing due to a high ankle sprain and up in the air for the Sept. 10 opener at Dallas.

“He got some treatment, he’s in there taking care of himself, getting ready to go,’’ said McAdoo. When asked exactly what Beckham was able to do, McAdoo replied only “He’s in there, he’s getting treatment, he’s going through his workouts, doing everything he can to get ready to go.”

➤ Big Blue does have one receiver back, with Brandon Marshall participating fully after being limited by a shoulder injury suffered Aug. 20 against Cleveland.

“He hasn’t been out there very much in the last couple of weeks,’’ said McAdoo. “I mean, [Tuesday] was a good day for him to get back out there and get some routes on air and then get some of the work in the team periods.” ➤ LB Keenan Robinson is still in the concussion protocol. CB Eli Apple worked off to the side, hopeful his left ankle injury won’t keep him out of the opener. “I mean, I don’t think so, but we’ll see. Just got to take it day by day,’’ Apple said.
