A sightseeing ship full of tourists caught fire near Governors Island on Friday morning, forcing an evacuation of the vessel, officials said.

No injuries were reported from the blaze, which broke out in the boat’s engine room at 11:30 a.m., according to the FDNY.

“They just said there was a tech- nical difficulty, but then at the request of the Police Department, they asked us to have the life jackets on,” said 30-year-old Canadian tourist Zubair Ali Khan.

“It was quite an adventure, but we were not panicked,” he added.

The ship’s 80 passengers cautiously filed onto an NYPD patrol boat, which ferried them to Pier 11 in lower Manhattan.

The boat leaves regularly from 23rd Street and the FDR Drive in Manhattan, carrying as many as 300 passengers on trips to the Statue of Liberty, according to the operator’s Web site.
