Fashionable fracas

-

“IT’S starting to get dangerous,” a security guard yelled outside of Philipp Plein’s $7 million New York Fashion Week show, as crowds tried to push their way into Hammerstein Ballroom. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” said high-heeled guests as they were jostled. Inside, Plein took the stage, apologizing for the melee. “I want to apologize, first of all, for the crowds,” he said. “I know it was very difficult for you to come in here and there are still probably 2,000 people outside trying to get in. I want to apologize really for this situation. I dreamed of it, but I never thought it was gonna happen.” Safely inside the venue were Paris Hilton, Nicki Minaj and Tiffany Trump. Dita Von Teese kicked things off by bathing in a martini glass, Future sang while models like Adriana Lima walked the runway. “Right now I’m in law school so I don’t have a lot of time to go to shows,” Trump, who says her style is “sophisticated with a bit of an edge,” told us. Trump stuck around for an after-party as her Secret Service guard looked on. Guests waited 40 minutes when it was announced Minaj would perform. “Thank you for including our culture in here tonight,” Minaj said. “A lot of times designers get really big, really rich off our culture and then you don’t see a motherf - - ker that looks anything like us in the crowd tonight.” This was followed up with “Please stay in school, please get higher education.”
