Weird BUT true

A motorist who ended up driving into a Pennsylvania river is blaming his GPS.

The man told police his global positioning system had him make a wrong turn onto a Hugh Moore Park bicycle path at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. When the path narrowed, the man’s car rolled sideways into the Lehigh River in Easton, Pa., said cops who issued him several traffic citations.

A knife-wielding punk tried to rob a Southern California pizza place — just hours after burglars broke in and stole $1,500 from the same place, authorities said.

Pizza Chalet workers were cleaning up after the burglary Tuesday, when Ernest Ramirez, 19, entered and demanded money, cops said.

Luckily, a Covina cop, nearby because of the burglary, thwarted Ramirez who was charged with armed robbery and resisting arrest, police said.

California cops, in an hours-long standoff with an agitated suspect jumping roof to roof in a residential neighborhood, got an unexpected assist — from an impatient grandpa.

La Puente, Calif., homeowner Wilford Burgess, 83, tired of the suspect’s “games,” climbed up on his own roof and pushed the man off.

“The grandpa did what we couldn’t,” said police Capt. Tim Murakami.

Yes, we want more people to read newspapers — just not while they’re driving.

A Maryland bus driver was suspended after a rider, Myles Hill, posted a video of the driver reading a newspaper while driving his route in College Park.

A man who won $200,000 playing the Connecticut Lottery’s Keno game last year recently scored a $100,000 payout — playing the exact same numbers.

Mark Roy went 7-for-7 by using the lucky-again digits of 3, 10, 14, 24,30, 47 and 56.

“The numbers — they all mean something to me,” Roy said. “They’re all family birthday numbers. I’m just ecstatic.”
