Anarchist in the Classroom: CUNY Prof’s Anti-Cop Tweet

-

Leftists like John Jay College adjunct professor Michael Isaacson apparently believe that anyone who doesn’t follow, or at least endorse, their grotesque worldview should be vilified, maimed or maybe even dead (“John Jay cop-hater badgers de Blasio,” Sept. 17).

However, like his cowardly role models, Isaacson can be counted among the first who would seek the protection of “future dead cops” in the face of danger. Patrick O’Connor The Bronx

Isaacson should try working in a high-crime area for 24 hours and get back to us.

I can tell you firsthand what it’s like; I did it for 25 years all over this city.

Every cop in this city and all over this country have families that pray their loved ones will come home safe.

It’s a shame that this is the kind of person who’s teaching our kids in universities. John Barrett Brooklyn

The faculty of John Jay College once included the most famous and experienced criminal-justice and law-enforcement professionals. Obviously, that has changed.

It’s rich that John Jay College President Karol Mason now says she’s shocked by Isaacson’s comments.

She might ask how he even got hired in the first place. Carole Campolo East Hampton

Is anyone ever shocked by the asinine antics on college campuses these days from either students or professors in the classroom?

Why CUNY’s school of criminal justice would even hire a self-professed Antifa anarchist as a professor is beyond me.

It shouldn’t have taken his outrageous tweet to get him canned.

As a police officer, I found his tweet abhorrent. Thinking that it is funny to teach “future dead cops” is disgusting. This guy needs to be kept far away from a classroom.

Isaacson has a First Amendment right to say what he pleases, but I’m pleased that he was placed on administrative leave, hopefully to be followed by his departure. He should peddle his garbage elsewhere. Sal Giarratani Boston, Mass.

He’s likely the worst, but Isaacson isn’t the first example of a teacher at John Jay College who turned out to be unsuitable for the task.

The more important question is why the school continues to hire such opinionated, hostile misfits. Charles Winokoor Fall River, Mass.

How ironic that in a profession like teaching at a university, where the unemployment rate is high compared to other fields, a fool such as Isaacson would be allowed near a classroom.

As an adjunct, he had virtually no job security to begin with.

The tweet by this socalled academic is what happens when professors engage in violent propaganda rather than simply teach.

Good riddance. CUNY should be ashamed that it ever hired him. Alice Lemos Woodside

John Jay graduates aren’t going to be fit for any kind of job as long as professors like Isaacson are allowed to teach.

He can hold any opinion he wants, but he shouldn’t be allowed to shove it down his students’ throats. He should be fired for his statement.

Parents should think twice about paying for their kids’ tuition to a college like this.

When the college’s bottom line starts to hurt, the administration will change its thinking. Pete Calogero Red Hook

Isaacson, who tweeted that “it’s a privilege to teach future dead cops” had to go into hiding because of the threats he received in response.

I wonder if he had to file a police report as well. Gary Cella Greenwich, Conn.

Isaacson’s remarks are not only appalling but dangerous.

The fact that he was put on administrative leave and not immediately fired is telling. Not only should he have been fired, but whoever hired him should be let go as well.

This kind of language by the liberal left has been ignored for far too long. Tony Rotunno Staten Island
