Lions TE calls out Collins

- By PAUL SCHWARTZ

Lions tight end Eric Ebron is not a big fan of Landon Collins. And the Giants s tar safety could care less.

Following the Lions’ 24-10 victory Monday at MetLife, Ebron expressed his anger over a big hit from Collins.

“I was pissed off,” Ebron told the Detroit News. “I was pissed off at that little punk of a safety they’ve got over there.

“Collins, he played a good game, that hit just pissed me off. He played his butt off trying to guard me. I commend him for that.”

Ebron had five receptions for 42 yards, including a touchdown on safety Darian Thompson.

Collins was not impressed by Ebron’s complaint.

“He got a touchdown. I guess he thought he scored on me, he did not,’’ Collins said. “He didn’t catch any balls on me or had any yards on me. I guess he didn’t like the hit that I laid on him. It’s a game of football, man. I’m not gonna play soft for nobody. If I see you, and I can hit you and square you up, that’s what you’re gonna get and that’s what he has gotten.”

It does not sound encouraging as far as LB

B .J. Goodson getting back on the field Sunday to face the Eagles. Goodson injured his shin in the season opener, did not play vs. the Lions and did not practice Wednesday.

“It started to get better, after a couple of heavy days back on it, it was kind of like a reoccurrence,’’ Goodson said. “Definitely something we’re working on day-to-day, something that will get better.’’ Coach Ben McAdoo was not very forthcoming when asked if Justin Pugh will start at right tackle if Bobby Hart (ankle) cannot play.

“It would be dumb for me to answer that question,’’ McAdoo said. “We’re going to put the best f ive out there. Wherever they line up is where they line up.’’
