LEGENDS REUNITE TO HONOR VERSACE
Déjà-view! Nineties supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Claudia Schiffer and Carla Bruni returned to the catwalk Friday night for Versace’s spring 2018 show in Milan, Italy.
The icons, glittering in gold lamé gowns with thigh-high slits, walked down the runway to George Michael’s “Freedom” in tribute to the late designer Gianni Versace, who was murdered 20 years ago.
“It was iconic,” John Crawford, president of Crawford Models, told The Post. “These were Gianni’s muses.”
The show also included Versace’s most famous looks on “it” gals Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Cindy Crawford’s 16year-old daughter, Kaia Gerber.
After the pretty young things strutted their stuff, the lights dimmed and a curtain opened to reveal Crawford (age 51), Campbell (47), Christensen (48), Schiffer (47) and Bruni (49) looking hotter than ever.
They were joined by the label’s current creative director and Gianni’s sister, Donatella, for an emotional bow.
Campbell later praised Donatella on Instagram.
“Thank you for bringing us all together,” she wrote. “Words cannot describe this moment.”
And while fellow ’90s stunner Linda Evangelista famously once said she wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day, John Crawford told The Post that these models likely did it for love — not cash.
“I don’t think money was a question,” he said. “They would go for the 20th anniver- sary and the love they have for Gianni.”
The still-stunning supermodels had Milan’s fashionistas wide-eyed at the spectacle.
“The finale was everything that people from fashion and industry outsiders wanted to see,” said Elisabetta Pollastri, p.r. director and partner of Violetta Group.
