Taphouse a naphouse

-

This shot didn’t go down so smooth.

A Manhattan bar owner called the cops after she logged on to the watering hole’s Web cam to spy the bartender snoozing and his friends rifling around behind the counter Sunday morning.

Melissa Kelly, who owns the Ninth Avenue dive Holland Bar with husband Gary Kelly, was on vacation in Pennsylvania for her birthday when she fired up the feed to a pub security camera on her phone and saw the previous night’s tapman face down on the counter.

“It was a nice gift I got on my birthday,” Kelly said. “I woke up at 8. I looked at the camera. I thought I saw an illusion. He should have closed the bar at 4, 4:30. He was sleeping behind the bar.”

Kelly called the em- ployee and told him he couldn’t stay there — but when she checked the camera 15 minutes later, he was out cold again and two of his pals were behind the bar.

“When I saw that, I called the cops,” she said.

Police came but did not file a report. The Kellys cut short their vacation to return to the city to assess the situation.

The negligent bartender did not see what all the fuss was about.

“He was angry that I called the cops,” Kelly said.

“He told me, ‘You called the cops on us?’ I said, ‘Of course, I did.’ I definitely cannot rely on him. It’s never a dull moment when you have your own business.”
