OFFENSE

Don’t look now but the Jets have a decent offense. They rolled up 336 yards Sunday and put together a few nice scoring drives in the third quarter to win the game. QB Josh McCown (18-of23, 249 yards, 1 TD, 126.3 rating) was efficient and did not make any killer mistakes. The 69-yard touchdown to Robby

Anderson was huge. The running game still scuffled, averaging 3.0 yards per carry.

DEFENSE

The Jets defense people expected to see at the start of the season showed up Sunday. The Dolphins had just 30 yards rushing and 225 total yards. The Jets held them to 1-for-12 on third downs. Dolphins QB Jay Cutler (26-of-44, 220 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 70.3 rating) looked lost all day long. RB Jay Ajayi (11 rushes, 16 yards) had nowhere to run. The Jets nearly had a shutout, but gave up a lastsecond touchdown.

SPECIAL TEAMS

The Jets did a great job in coverage, allowing 6.5 yards per punt return. Lac

Edwards had a another nice game punting to a net average of 46.0 yards. He boomed a 61-yard punt. Jeremy Kerley had a 15-yard return and did a good job in his first game back as the returner.

COACHING

Todd Bowles did a great job getting his team back on track. The defense looked like a different unit than the one that played last week in Oakland. He made some personnel changes and clearly emphasized tackling this week. The players listened. John

Morton had a good day calling plays. He showed he’s not afraid to take shots, calling the deep pass to Anderson.
