By George, that’s Larry!

-

In the world of Larry David, art imitates life. Here are five episodes from “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” where the laughs are on David.

“Seinfeld,” “The Revenge,” April 18, 1991

George (Jason Alexander, above) quits his job after being banned from the executive washroom, then realizes that quitting was a terrible mistake. Jerry suggests that he go back and act like nothing happened. This pretty much mirrors what went down when David stormed off of “Saturday Night Live” and turned to the real-life Kramer for advice.

“Seinfeld,” “The Contest,” Nov. 18, 1992

David once participated in a masturbation contest that became the plot of one of the most memorable “Seinfeld” episodes.

“Seinfeld,” “The Pilot, Part 1,” May 20, 1993

When George and Jerry cast for their “Seinfeld”esque show on “Seinfeld,” George accuses the actor playing Kramer of stealing a box of raisins. A TV writer weathered the same accusation when David and Seinfeld were putting together a team for the real “Seinfeld.”

“Seinfeld,” “The Soup Nazi,” Nov. 2, 1995

George can’t take it when Jerry and his girlfriend get annoyingly cute, calling each other “schmoopie.” In real life, David cringed over Seinfeld and his girlfriend engaging in baby talk with each other.

“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Divorce,” July 10, 2011

David and his real-life wife, Laurie, divorced in 2007. At that point, Larry decided that he and his TV wife, played by Cheryl Hines, should get divorced as well.
